Kurzweil Piano (samples layer for the Paax 2 VST plugin) |
| |
This is a piano from Kurzweil, I found it on the net and it was in a really bad shape. I did the possible to remake it as new, just normalize it and reconverted in wav format then loop it. It is a very good piano.
I made the layer with the Paax 2 (sample player) plugin which you can free download from www.kotkasuniverse.com. If you want a more impressive sound move to the effects section of the plugin and switch on the chorus, it is already set for the purpose.

Fm Rhodes MK2 (patch for FM7 synth) |
| |
You may find this patch around, I think somebody have done it for Yamaha long time ago. Rhodes is just a way to say but it is full like it. I have used it a lot, is a beautiful fm electric piano, full tone, and I used a TC chorus with DX7.
I have smooth the high end on my taste. You can move slightly the mod wheel to add some vib. Added a bit of chorus on FM7 to enlarge.
Well, if you haven't got in your collection, there it is. Try it, is not exactly the classic one.

Fm Foreigner (patch for FM7 synth) |
| |
At that time I needed a warm pad when playing soft and a brassy feel when pushing it hard, so I made it. The name is very common.
Added chorus on FM7, it makes the sound more round. I have used TC chorus on DX7, it was fantastic.

Pastorius (patch for Fact2 VST Plugin) |
| |
Yes, this patch I made is a simulation of one of the great Pastorious's sounds on a fretless Jazz Bass. It is a patch in fxp format (universal Cubase format) for the Fact2 (sample based synth) VST plugin which I found very powerful. You may download the demo from www.rocktave.com.
After you will hear it you will understand what is the difference with others fretless bass. Watch out, lower your output because this sound may suddenly blow out your system.

Fm Strings Ensemble 3 (patch for FM7 synth) |
| |
In 1984 was seeming impossible to get ensembles like on a analog synth from FM synthesis, I would to challenge it and there it is, you must just know how to do it.
Remember that from Polysix on all analog synths comes out with a chorus processor which was all the fatness about and DX7 was doing without. We cannot talk about prior synths like Moog and Arp, completely another story.
Added a bit of chorus on FM7 to stereophonize.
